First
Responders do not replace paramedics. They provide emergency medical
services to victims in need and are an invaluable link to the
lifesaving effort. The benefits of this training are measurable by the
increased level of service we can provide personally in our own lives
as well as to the entire campus. This is particularly important in a
major disaster in which local responding agencies may be severely
delayed in arriving at Caltech or any other location.
The
course contains both a written and practical final exam and is taught
by an American Red Cross instructor.
Students
who successfully complete the class will receive American Red Cross
First Responder Certificates and patches.
